Water for Refugees and their Host Communities
Welthungerhilfe is helping IDPs (Internally Displaced People - people who have been displaced within their own country) in the Iraqi provinces of Nineveh and Salah-Al-Din. The host communities where these IDPs have settled also receive assistance. Around 250,000 people are benefiting from improved access to clean water. There is also an awareness-raising campaign on the issue of hygiene. In addition, training and loans are being provided to create jobs in rural and urban areas.
