Raising Awareness of Hygiene and COVID-19 in a Former IS-Controlled Area

In the Iraqi province of Nineveh, formerly controlled by IS, people are still suffering from the effects of the conflict. Welthungerhilfe is providing humanitarian assistance in the region, for example by repairing water pipes, pumps, sewage systems, and school sanitation facilities. Several of these activities involve the population through a cash for work programme. Hygiene education campaigns are also being conducted. In total, the project benefits more than 147,000 people.
